Using the aspects of my dreams and passion and translating them metaphorically to create a meaningful artwork that can spread an important message to the viewers.

What do I want people to understand from my video?
Through this project, I wish people could realize and understand the true beauty of our nature, and how without the greed of mankind, nature is able to thrive and flourish like it is supposed to.

For my backdrop, I chose to do a warm-toned colour with nature surrounding me, these are the inspirations.

Next, I did some sketches for my action in the video, I drew 2 different ideas but I was leaning more towards sketch #1 because sketch #2 would be too gloomy for the backdrop and would not have suited it.

After done with my sketch, I proceed to find different elements online to incorporate in my video, these are the few ones I found that I think would suit the video.

Background option #1:
I changed the temperature and contrast of the original image (left) to match the chosen theme and the colour palette of the video.

Background option #2:

I went to Illustrator to create a horizontal gradient background just in case option #1 would not match, however quickly realised that the video would look better with a photographic background.

During week 11 of class, me and my friends went to campus to take some portrait pictures of each other with a DSLR, this is my final chosen picture that I want to further develop.

Poster Outcome:

During week 13, I showed my first poster outcome to Mr Martin during a feedback session in class.

Fig. 2.1 First Outcome

Mr Martin's Feedback:
You should make the size of your portrait at least 30% smaller so that we can focus on what's going on in the background too. You should also increase the contrast on your face much more so that it pops.

After listening to his feedback, I tweaked the issues pointed out and also added more elements in the background as well as below my portrait to give me a base which allowed me to decrease the overall size of my portrait by placing myself on top of the island.
